Avionics Systems Engineer — Unmanned Systems
A UK defence contractor at the forefront of unmanned aerial systems development is seeking an Avionics Systems Engineer to join its growing platform engineering team at Farnborough. The company is delivering a number of high-profile UAS programmes for UK and allied defence customers and is looking for engineers motivated by technically complex, safety-critical work in a collaborative engineering environment.
Working within a systems engineering framework, you will be responsible for the design, integration and test of avionics subsystems on UAS platforms ranging from tactical class to MALE. Your responsibilities will span requirements decomposition and flow-down, avionics architecture development, interface definition, integration planning and V&V activities. You will work closely with software, mechanical and mission systems engineers across the full programme lifecycle.
Candidates should hold an electronics, avionics or systems engineering degree and have a minimum of four years’ relevant experience in a defence or aerospace environment. Experience with DO-178C, DO-254 or DEF STAN 00-56 certification processes is highly desirable. SC clearance is required for this role; candidates without current clearance must be eligible to obtain it.
